Terms of service.

1. The agreement

These terms govern your use of the bandlingo.edu website, the Bandlingo mobile app, and any counselling or consultancy service we provide. By creating an account, paying for a plan, or speaking to a counsellor on our channels, you agree to these terms.

"Bandlingo", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Bandlingo Edutech Pvt Ltd, an Indian private limited company registered in Chandigarh. "You" refers to the individual using our services.

2. Your account

To use most features you need a Bandlingo account. You must:

• Be 16 years of age or older. If you are between 16 and 18, a parent or guardian must consent to your registration in writing.
• Provide accurate information — your real name, a working phone number, a valid email.
• Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Notify us within 48 hours if you suspect your account has been accessed by someone else.

One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to claim multiple free trials is grounds for termination of all of them.

3. Paid plans and billing

Pricing for current plans is shown on the Pricing page and forms part of these terms. We bill in Indian Rupees, inclusive of GST where applicable. Plan inclusions are stated on the pricing page at the time of purchase and cannot be changed retroactively to your detriment.

Refunds are governed by our Refund policy. Credit consumption inside the app is governed by our Credit-safety policy. Both are incorporated into these terms by reference.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Resell, redistribute or sub-license access to your account or its content.
• Scrape, copy or extract our practice items, rubrics, conversion tables, or any content not explicitly offered for download.
• Use Bandlingo to prepare for, or attempt, any form of test fraud (impersonation of a test-taker, smuggling materials into a test, etc).
• Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, or that infringes a third party's intellectual property.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section. In serious cases we will refer the matter to the relevant authorities.

5. Your content

You retain copyright in any writing, audio, video or document you upload to Bandlingo. You grant us a non-exclusive, revocable, India-and-worldwide licence to store, process and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you — scoring your attempt, returning examiner feedback, generating your university shortlist.

We use de-identified, aggregate data from submissions to improve our scoring models. We do not use identifiable submissions to train models without your explicit opt-in. See our Privacy policy for the full statement.

6. Third-party services and links

To deliver the full service we work with third parties — payment processors (Razorpay, Stripe India), education loan providers (Avanse, HDFC Credila, Auxilo), forex partners (BookMyForex), test-administration bodies (IDP, British Council, ETS, Pearson, Duolingo, Cambridge), and university admissions offices. We are not responsible for the policies or decisions of these third parties. Their terms apply when you interact with them directly.

7. Limitation of liability

We work hard to deliver the outcomes we promise on each plan. But many outcomes — final test scores, university admission decisions, visa outcomes — depend on decisions made by independent third parties, not us.

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our total liability for any claim arising under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost study-abroad opportunities, alternative consultancy fees, etc).

This limitation does not apply where it would be contrary to the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or where our liability arises from gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material — affecting refund rights, pricing, or data handling — we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect and post a notice on this page. Continued use after the effective date counts as acceptance.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of Chandigarh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 to file before a District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission at your place of residence.
